I find it fascinating that France's President had a 'domestic partner' who was known as France's First Lady. For all my wildly liberal friends who don't believe in the institution of marriage ("Marriage is a wonderful institution, but who wants to live in an institution?" -Groucho Marx) I know that you will start sputtering that marriage is just a piece of paper, yada yada yada.
However: Since the French President cheated on her with a movie star, and marriage doesn't define a First Lady in France, does that make the movie star the new First Lady? Or does she actually have to move in with him before she becomes one? And what if he decides to take in a new "First Lady" every month? Inquiring minds want to know.
