Wedding Pottery

Here's the pottery I made for my brother and his wife. They were just married a couple of weeks ago. They're actually handpainted with their names, but I am eliminating their names to protect the innocent. The pictures really don't do them justice - they are much nicer looking in person:

Wow...what great work, Saur. You could probably make some good money doing it as a side business.

I think that what I see here is not adequately described by the word "pottery". Unless you bought some greenware and limited your work to decoration, your work is way more classy than most pottery. (I speak as one who has tried to do that kind of work and who finally copped out to decorated greenware) Nice stuff. (Really nice work even if it was decorated greenware)

By the say, your word verification said COMMI. Have you figured out how to call me naughty names?

I so lack the patience for that sort of thing.

Fred, Thanks! I really enjoyed it. They have such unusual names that it was a really nice exception to the usual wedding crystal, blah blah blah. He seemed to like it!

3Score&10, It's always SO good to hear from you! Coming from a highly artistic person, I take that as praise indeed!

Lazy, It was during a time when I really needed to escape my home so I was provided with all the patience I needed. I had a friendly acquaintace and her daughter staying with me.

My 'friend' is an alcoholic and her daughter is very troubled but they had no where to go and I let them stay for a month for the sake of the daughter, primarily (she's 13 y.o.). I'd like to see this woman get better but she has to face her alcoholism first. So needless to say, there was more chaos than I'd like - especially when I was having so much trouble with my eyes. This pottery was done with reading glasses, which I thankfully don't need anymore! ;o)

Wow, all of my work at those pottery places looks like a 2 year old did it. Nice job Saur, sometimes I wish I had talent like that. I do not have an artistic bone in my body. My sister and I painted a platter for my mom one mother's day. The thing is hideous!
