Pottery Purgatory

My friend, Michelle, and I took our kids to a place to paint pottery this morning. Michelle, being the wise and intelligent woman that she is, encouraged her kids to pick out small items. I picked out a big one, my son picked out a medium one, and my boyfriend's daughter picked a very intricate, detailed mermaid. Michelle was out in an hour. I was out in five.

By the end of it, my vision was blurred, my neck ached, and I was grumpy. We all were starving. I think this was the equivalent to tubing down a river. It's fun for the first couple of hours, but by the time that you decide you've had enough, you are only halfway there.

We get the projects back next Saturday. I'll post the pics then. What are you doing this lovely Saturday afternoon?

I'm exhausted just thinking about that! I hope you had fun.

I am about to restring my electric guitar and play some blues. I haven't done that in a long, long time.

How fun! I used to play piano, and did state competitions as well. Because it grew to be a chore, I finally dropped it. I always wanted to try the guitar!

Better you than me, Saur. I don't have a creative bone in my body...

I'm kicking back, having a beer and surfing blogs. I had a nice, relaxing day of doing absolutely nothing in a hammock.

After we finished our nice, relaxing, hour short ceramic painting....We went home, got lunch, and relaxed for about an hour. Then me and kindy garten kid went to Michael's craft store to get materials for his school project. Which is not due for a month but, 5 year old cannot wait! Then we came back home relaxed again and made dinner. Since the project is a "family" project we all cut, glued and pasted for a little while. Now I am going to head to the store for that bottle of wine I have been thinking about.

Saur, it really was fun! The trick is to get the small stuff when with kids. Remember - Big things come ins small packages.

Michelle, yes! Next time, they are only allowed to do Xmas ornaments!!! ;o)

You're having such a nice evening. I am still recuperating. :P

Snicksnack, that is what I will be doing NEXT Saturday!

Bananarama, and you are probably a much less stressed out person because of it...

This afternoon I was mainly acting.

I'm not doing a danged thing. We're just hanging around with friends and family, staying close to home.

Hooking up speakers, grading homework, and cooking chili. An odd combination, yes.

Mr. Gator, *LOL* I know. We're busted now, homie. So lemme guess what you painted: dragons? Skulls? I'd tell you what Michelle's youngest painted, but I'll leave that up to her. We thought it was pretty funny.

Jessica, but warm and homey! Sounds peaceful. You got a new stereo?

Fred, a nice, relaxing day. That is, unless the kids start fighting... ;o) Happily, mine never do. I'm serious, they have an argument maybe once a year.

Daniel, I checked out your site! You are busy!

Scientists classify this as "live and learn."

GECKOS!!! We have two, had three, live ones. Not to mention the one's we catch, keep for a day or so, and let go.

Today guess what. More geckos. We had a school project to do. We found geckos on the internet and did a cut and paste project.

It is always a geckos party at my house, never ends.
