Rosie is OK So Far

Rosie is OK so far. If all goes well, she will come home today. They removed the tumor but not the thyroid, which seems to be a very good indication that all is not as bad as we feared it might be.

SaurKid brought her a stuffed toy, and we gave her flowers. Other friends brought gifts or love or both. At the end of the day, Rosie's hubby ("Syd") gave us all a single long-stemmed rose as a thank you for being there for Rosie. Although "Rosie" isn't her real name, I found it very appropriate. ;o)

Thank you so much for your thoughts, well-wishes and prayers. I am certain that they helped.

By this time next week, we'll all be nursing sore bellies from Thanksgiving! It's hard to believe that we're in the middle of the holidays once more. I am hopeful that we will have many things to give thanks for.

I can tell we are heading into to the holidays, I have my "Halloween Haunt" going. It seems right after Halloween every year, 5-8 lbs haunts me and does not go away until March.......ggrrrrrr

I'm glad to hear she's okay... Sometimes, like my close friend, they found nodules near her thyroid and did a number of tests... she may have to get them removed or seek other options.

I hope Rosie's recovery is a fast one!

Saur,

It's not that uncommon to have nodules growing in your thyroid. Now that she knows that she is prone to such growths she can have the them sucked out with a needle next time.

I'm glad she is doing well.

Thanks Giving now has a new meaning for Rosie and all the wonderful people who love her.

Enjoy the turkey !

Glad to hear Rosie is doing better. I don't know what her diet is like, but there are a lot of cancer survivors who can attest to the fact that they got better and are staying better because of lifestyle change.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

it's obvious you're a wonderful friend and support to many people. that's what gets people through the tough times: friends and family and lots o prayer type stuff :)

Good for Rosie. I hope both you and her husband feel the way I do right now. The past couple of months have been almost unbareable, but having "friends" (even those whom you have never met personally) who support you with thoughts and prayers makes it something else. Rosie and I will have a great Thanksgiving this year.
