News of the Weird

Britney Spears outdid herself on Friday when she shaved her head bald. For many of us, that's actually a pretty satisfying image. We now know that even celebs have bad hair days, and we can also be somewhat smug in the knowlege that unless we've been Baker Acted, we've managed to avoid doing anything that nuts.

Japanese Scientists have successfully grown human teeth from a single cell and transplanted them to mice. This is what I picture ----->
And I'm led to wonder: Since mice need sharp incisors to eat what they prefer, what are they being fed? Baby food?

After the latest airline debacle (in which passengers were kept hostage in a Jet Blue airplane for 9+ hours), many people are demanding an Airline Traveller Bill of Rights. It's obviously overdue. I'd like to suggest that we also tackle the problem of airline food. When we'd rather go hungry than eat airplane fare, something needs to be done. The last airline meal I had resembled an old man's toupee with a little gravy spread on top. It tasted like it, too.

What's next? Are they going to give the mice large glasses and a pocket protector?

I feel sorry for Britney's kids. They are going to be so messed up.

There is no excuse for keeping passengers on an airplane for that long on the ground, especially on an arriving flight. But I don't think legislation is the answer. Let Jet Blue know by flying another airline. As for airline food, it will not get better until people are willing to pay more for tickets. You get what you pay for...

Saur,

There aren't many things that irritate me but one of them is hot women that have yellow teeth. It just drives me crazy, are they waiting for me to buy them crest White Strips? I just can't talk about this.

Excellent post.

I don't know what airlines you fly, but except for overseas flights, I haven't been fed anything but peanuts or pretzels and coke (or pepsi) for almost five years. There are times when I would have welcomed a toupee with gravy.

You all have to not cheap out and fly business or first class on trans-Atlantic flights. You get hooked up to the second power. Hot towels and everything.

I don't fly anymore so I will never be trapped!

If people would not fly out OR to horrible places that have a lot of ice and snow, then they would not get trapped in airplanes.

Miami International Airport had NO delays for flights going to Aruba. In fact, the only delays from here were on flights going to places under 10 feet of ice and snow.

Serves them right. Don't they know it is winter? And would they rather the plane take off and crash killing everyone because the wings are iced over? Would that be better? Or how about the airport just sit down and shit more gates for them to go back to?

Is that mouse from Georgia? I think I saw those teeth once in a movie about a bunch of guys that go canoing in a river. There were banjos.

they've had chicklet gum for years and years that can be used to replace teeth that are yellow

lazy..no that movie was filmed in deary idaho. and there were squealing pigs also

It may have been filmed in Idaho, but the "setting" was Georgia.

what happens in Georgia stays in Georgia.

Actually, it WAS filmed in Georgia, and only those who have never experienced Idaho would call it dreary. (Speaking as a Georgian who is a former Idahoan, and if I could stand snow anymore would consider being a future Idahoan.)

Idaho is great - if you happen to be a potato(e).

I thought the scenery was a bit too green for Idaho.

Nobody got my teeth joke. Or maybe it was not funny. Ill try harder next time.

threescore and ten,

I say it was filmed in Deary, because of the people who live there would fit the bill for extras, but IMDB says Georgia as previously suspected. Who knew? (no offense to Idahoan's in the other parts of the state...or Georgians for that matter).
