Today we go to Busch Gardens (where we have yearly passes) with Michelle and her family. Although I've lived here all my life, I never get tired of the Tampa Bay Area. We have it all here, and I love it!
I do wonder some things:
1. How do they control the mosquito population? I've never seen one there.
2. Why did they have to take away the monorail? It was my favorite ride! I know some people thought it was lame, but I loved riding smoothly along in it's airconditioned comfort while having a guided tour of the different wild animals that are housed there.
3. When do they clean the poop out? You rarely see much poop, and I can't picture someone running about with a shovel and a garbage bag while being chased by a wildebeast. I'm sure they must lock the animals up at night, and then do poop-patrol. But what time do they do it? How many people do it? Is there only one Poop Meister or is everyone in on the fun?

Saur,
The Love Bugs eat all the mosquitos.
The monorail is very expensive to maintain.
Animals eat eat their own and each others feces. Kinda cool.
Have fun.
Have fun! (Well, you might even be gone by now).
We love Busch Gardens. I've been taking the kids there regularly this summer. My teens peer pressured their friends (parents) into getting passes too, so I usually bring a gang.
I missed you by a day. I'll be there tomorrow. When I get tired, I just make my way to the free beer pavillion.
Have a great time!
My husband has a thing for monorails, too. I've always liked them. They used to have one at the Philadelphia Zoo, but it's either beign repaired or is no longer in se. That was my first experience with monorails (I was roughly 3) and I've been a fan ever since. I'd like to take my son on the same one, but my husband is against zoos. We'll sneak in a trip or two anyway. It's rainign too much here to do anything, which means another day stuck in the house. I can't wait to have this baby!
OMG - I haven't thought about that place in years! The last time I was there I was 10 years old! The picture of the parrot on my arm comes to mind when I think it.
I have a theory on the Poop Mystery: What if they actually....
Let OUT the monkeys and lock IN all the other animals?
Monkeys will then have a massive poop fight and in the process, will pick it up, fling it at each other.
Of course, this involves a thorough monkey bath experience afterwards!
*scratches head*
Beav' the Monkey
Never been to Bush Gardens but always wanted to go when we were in Florida.
We did, however, go to Seaworld there and absolutely loved it. My wife even got picked to be in the Shamu Show one time. Now that was an experience. They made her sign a waiver not to hold the park liable in case Shamu ate her. Understandable but weird to think about.
Wish I could help with the "Poop" question but I have no idea. Hey, why don't you ask? :)
It must be such a great place to live! I wish there were more around here to do so!
wow. those are some really good questions! But that entrance alone is worth the price of admission - very cool.
Saur, my new blog address is http://malsmumblings.blogspot.com/
sorry for any problems...hope you enjoyed your day
Busch Gardens is, hands down, my favorite theme park type thing, but I'll have to admit that attendence there never has aroused in me the kind of reflection it aroused in you. I just, kinda, go with the flow.
i love it there too!! i have a year pass as well to busch gardens and am actually planning a trip there hopefully next month and i cant wait!! I hope you guys have fun!!! that place rocks. altho i totally chickened out last time with the sheikra. Completely. but i did go on everything else. ;)
be safe!! you & saurkid deserve a good time!
1. The nasty fumes from the swill they call "beer" that they make there keeps the bugs away.
2. The monorail is not a roller coaster. The only thing Busch Gardens has over the giant rat's house is roller coasters.
3. Good question about the poop! Maybe they have giant Scat Mats that force the critters to only poop in designated areas. Knowing them, the poop area will be located right next to the employee break area. It is a good way to prevent employees from loafing on breaks.
Are you really THAT interested in poop? Geez....
Atleast the rhinos there don't have to walk around with armed guards like they do in Africa.
I would luv to go there. Never been to FLA. I knew some cats from Tampa at the Lake.
That is so cool to have a place like that....about the poop...they must have a couple "honeymen" with very strong backs!
