Needles!

Today I'm going in for a particularly nasty test which involves many large needles and lots of unpleasant sensations. It's a test that will help them determine exactly where they need to operate.

However, be on the lookout for The Group Story tomorrow (which will run through the weekend). What would you like to write about?

Afternoon Update

Well, it was worse (psychologically) but better (pain-wise) than I had thought it would be. It's a test called a discography which involves them taking a very long needle and going in through the front of your throat, going all the way through, and entering into the back of your spine.

I had been originally told they'd be going in through the back of my neck instead. I told them if they'd told me this, I would've been miraculously cured!

This is a test to determine where the pain originates from and where they'll need to fuse my neck.

I hesitated to share this with you, for fear of being in danger of sounding like my grandmother! I'm 30-something and wasn't thrilled about it. Perhaps people who are older have experienced more weird tests than I have, but it didn't sound at all good. However, it actually wasn't as bad as it sounds. I have sore muscles in my throat and don't enjoy yawning, but other than that I'm fine!

Thanks for your prayers and well-wishes.

Now, let's discuss a series of story ideas. I can come up with my own, but if you have any suggestions; I'd love to hear them!

Good luck. You are in my prayers.

Being a new visitor I'm unaware of what surgery you are headed for but I'll say a prayer regardless as God knows what you need. That is of course provided you don't mind a fundamentalist christian praying for you. And yes I've had people refuse on that basis ;-). I'll be praying for the needles too. I hate needles. Even just sitting here thinking about gives me a crawly sensation just under the skin.

Lesser Lumpkin, thank you! I am very grateful for the prayer. Many people in my immediate family are Christian Fundamentalists. I'm not offended in the least. Instead, I thank you. It probably helped greatly.

Kathleen, thank you!

Michelle, Thank you, hon. I'll call later (or feel free to call).

Good news Saur. Glad that your worse fears were not realized. Still, allow yourself to rest. Your body was invaded.

I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease (after suffering for years and thinking it was my ol' couch potato-ness). The doctor said that a shot in my spine would help. Friends & family said that the shot would hurt worse than the pain the condition caused. Finally, I had it done. Piece of cake - they scanned my spine to see exactly where the shot should go, deadened the area, then stuck that big, ol' scary needle in and I didn't feel a thing. Helped alot.

I hope they're able to help you with your problem!!!

What about a blond curly haired Doctor who can't even walk down the street without women howling at him. He feels like a cheap piece of meat. The only other real problem in his life is that he can't find a good hair stylist. He becomes so frustrated with his life that he gives up his practice to tour the world to see if women in other parts of the the world treat him with respect.
