Kid Divider
Here's an invention that really should have caught on. The patent was issued in 2001 and this is the actual illustration. Although it's for children, the guys in here actually look like escapees from a nearby insane asylum; so I'm thinking it would be useful for either kids or asylum inmates (and sometimes it's very difficult to tell the difference).
Just think! No more "Mommmm, he's touching me!" "No I'm not!" "Yes you are!" "Mommmmm!"
My parents would have killed for this invention. I don't see why it's not a raging success. I think it should be in every Toys R' Us, in the car seat aisle. I only see one problem: there were 3 of us. How do you create three zones in the backseat? I'm sure if the inventor returns to the drawing board, he'll find a solution. Or perhaps he could invent a way to strap the third kid to the roof...?

I'll take one. Express delivery please. My children drive me crazy in the car. (But you know they were little angels on a long trip to Tennessee this summer....and without the use of drugs, only a dvd player!haha)
That picture was too funny!
My parents never tolerated any of us to get out of hand in the car, and there were 4 of us. One look from Dad was enough. If we did have our little spats, we had to keep them pretty quiet. Of course there were the usual "are we there yet?" questions.
*L*L*L*L* I remember all the fights in the back seat when I was a kid. 3 or 4 of us jammed in the seat for 3-4 hours at a time whining "Mooommmm, Daves knees are touching mine!" or "jeffy is making faces again"
I am not sure the divider would have fixed the problem, but it sure would have helped with noise level
My grandparents were way ahead of their time. When we went on trips with them, they used to put a television in the backseat between my younger brother and I. Once we got to where we were going, I never once recall the television being used.
My parents would have KILLED for that. Do you know how many trips we took from South Carolina to Indiana and back on Christmas and summer vacations. Forget my parents, I would have loved it!
My mom got a van so that we could each have our own seat because we drove her so crazy in the car. This is a great invention! Since we're staring the family, I'll have to find out where to get one of these soon.
my parents would have loved that too, and there were 3 of us too...they would put the middle sister inbetween me (the oldest) &the youngest in hopes to keep us from killing each other...it rarely worked...eve play the "quiet game"? whoever was quiet the longest got $1. :)
Haha I love that idea :) That patent must be worth millions.
I think I need something similar in my bedroom this week. A germ shield so my girlfriend doesn't get me sick. She keeps hacking up her lungs in my face. So yet---another invention!
LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe it wasn't a run away success. It would probably prevent a lot of accidents. Now they just need to invent one to separarte the driver from his cell phone and his Big Mac!

Hook the third kid up where the spare tire goes, and leave the tire at home. And tell him no spitting.
It looks like it might have another use also. Maybe they could use these on amusement park rides as puke barricades. The guys in the picture look like they're a little "loopy"!
Forget the kids, I could have used one for my parents while they were fighting and I was in the backseat listening....
All of the above. Priceless!
I need one!!!
Saur,
My mom always said that if we acted up that she would beat us, that was good enough for me.
Why didn't they think of it sooner when I was still growing up?
Never work, in practicality. If a kid can't get away with "Mom, Jeffry's touching me" he/she'll just shift to "Mom Jeffry's LOOKING at me". Same difference
They have to make one that's not clear. I used to get my little brother going just by looking at him!
Clever! Even though my sister's and I never really fought in the backseat when we were little, we were always perfect little angels... hahahaha... I can't beleive I just typed that.
It also needs to be opaque so you don't hear "he's looking at me"! Haha very good!
Oh, I see Jenn said that too!
I like that car seat idea. The graphic is pretty funny looking, but having that plexiglass divider is brilliant!
