Miss Florida Teen All American

CORRECTION: I wrote the post below before I discovered that she had been Miss Florida Teen All American a couple of years ago. Because they enter each year, these girls may lose the title one year and regain it the next. The really confusing part is, there are so many pageants I don't know how anyone can remember who has what title.

I recently had the business opportunity to meet for a couple hours with one of the recent runners up for Miss Florida Teen. Michelle was kind enough to watch the kids. Since our kids get along so great (what a blessing) it was easier for her (I hope). While they were off shopping for Halloween costumes, I was meeting with this debutante. Isn't she lovely?

What surprised me was how genuine she was. She is not a snob (her mother is the most down-to-earth person that I've met in a long time) and she is very bright and artistic.

Because of where life has taken me, I've met many models and celebs in my lifetime, and some can be annoyingly self-centered. The ones that are genuine get there because they are driven to succeed. It's not exactly an ego-thing. It's more of this constant itch to top whatever you did last time.

This girl has the itch. I think she'll go far.

Sounds like you have an interesting line of work, saur, and many opportunities to meet interesting people.

Not to put on a damper -- and perhaps it is the camera angle -- but her right forearm seems curiously misshapen. Is there some explanation for that?

Not being considered cute or among the popular when I was in high school, it surprised me when one of the pretty and popular ones made it a point to befriend me. (OTH I was a good lab partner *S*) It meant a lot and as she has moved thru life her "genuine" nature has carried her to multiple succeses. She was and is still worth knowing

It is a painful reminder of my prejudices when someone comes along kicks my preconceptions in the teeth.

She sounds like a great young lady

Yes, very pretty.

I think some people are just really driven... they can't help themselves.

Yes, While Saur was meeting the beauty queen. Two of the kids had a video game playing marathon. (What else do kids do these days?)

The other two were checking out vampires and devil costumes. Then we found a t-shirt that said "You can have my brother". I think that we had more fun than the others. Plus we got some junk food no one else knew about until it was too late.

I think Michelle and the kids had a better time. I did enjoy speaking with this girl and her mother, but I treasure my time with friends and family.

My daughter came back with a shirt that reads "I am the reason they make rules." She thought it was very funny.

Being attractive can be quite a burden. I ate at PF Changs tonight and the young ladies in the restaurant stared at me like I was a lettuce wrap. This young lady is very attractive and she should flaunt it now because she will turn 30 soon enough.

And then comes the sag or the surgery!

Mr. Gator, you're incorrigible.

Daniel, and ain't it the truth. I am coming to terms with my own mortality right now. I've developed tiny little lines that I hate with all my heart.
