And So...What Did YOU Get?

Christmas was a wonderful, relaxed day. I made the usual Christmas fare but I don't even sweat it any more (it's become such habit). Next year I'll try some new recipes. However, the family may resist because there are favorites (you know) and tradition. Heaven forbid we skip the potato casserole I have listed in Tabasamu's blog.

Family and friends drifted in and out and we wished they could've stayed longer. We gave close friends (who were Jehovah's Witnesses) Merry UNChristmas gifts. I was called a brat, and laughter and hugs were exchanged and they were delighted with their UNChristmas gifts.

But what did *I* get for Christmas? SaurKid sewed me this lovely long rice bag out of stretchy t-shirt cloth that can be microwaved and placed on my neck (it's heavenly). He even made me a box to put it in, and a tiny pillowcase for it. And The Other Half got me these marvellous dangly designer rhinestone earrings that are almost shoulder-dusters and a glitzy white gold (CZ) designer tennis bracelet that I have on right now. And we got the usual assortment of restaurant gift certificates, including one to a restaurant that will let us bring our two doggies.

What goodies did you luck out on this year?

I got magnetix, dragons, dinosaur Imaginext, books, doodle monster, Leappad and books, gift certificate, blockbuster cards...

Oh that wasn't me, that was Little Man. It was a blast seeing his reactions.

Big Guy was appreciative of his Franklin Mint Crystal Dragon and money.

Michelle, I'll bet they're still having fun. I was sure the Crystal Dragon would be a hit with Kid #1. Kid #2 made out like a bandit~!

FTS, I can understand enjoying solitude on Christmas Day. Soon you'll be back to work, slinging hair again. It's a tough gig.

the best gift for Christmas? Being here to enjoy it with the O.H. and the girls. For me, all else is icing

Best for you and yours in the coming year *S*

The microwavable rice bag sounds wonderful. I may have to try that!

Saur,

Merry Christmas. Santa was very good to me. I got car seat covers. Never buy a car with leather seats if you have a tight shapely butt.

I was a little embarrassed this year, as my "boys" put too many presents under the tree just for me. Who says being a MOM doesn't pay off once in awhile?
Best present: DVD/VCR combo
Worst present: NONE... they were all great!

This year was exceptional... including the feast we had that night!

Not ties, no socks, no belts. So, all the other gifts were great.

Of course, I got plenty of Hawaiian shirts. You can never have enough of them...

Two Twisted Christmas albums, a Dr. Demento Christmas album, a wind-up flashlight that doesn't need batteries, a new coat and a Hersheypark RollerCow.

A heart-to-heart with my dad. It's good to see family in person when we live so far away.

My two favorite presents were:
A Batman puzzle for ages 4+ that will one day adorn the wall of my music room.

Michael Buble's latest CD which has caused dancing to break out in the middle of my kitchen.

The smoke alarm just went off in my kitchen followed by Aunt J yelling. It's ready!! Should I be worried?

I got gift certificates to great places in generous amounts. Heaven.

Also other neat stuff, books, personalized calendar, like that. One truly horrible jacket. It will be returned.

Saur♥Kraut said...

TLP, dare you say whom you got the 'truly horrible jacket' from? ;o) The others sound marvellous!

Uncle Joe, I would worry. Batman! Dadadadadadadadadadadadadadadadada BATMAN!

Jessica, I know! I loved the visit I had with my folks. The presents were nothing spectacular; it was the visit.

Dddragon, I know where you got the Hershey's cow from... ;o)

Fred, when will they start making Floridian shirts? I mean, here we are...wearing Hawaiian ones.

Ellen aw, how nice that they appreciate you NOW rather than LATER. I have a friend who always says she wants flowers from everyone NOW rather than get them at her funeral. ;o)

Mr. Gator, the Other Half has a Jag with leather seats. I have a nice reliable car with cloth seats instead. I can't abide leather. My legs stick to it in the summer. Bleah.

Lee Ann, it's easy to make! a bag stuffed loosely with dry white rice and sewed shut. Microwave about 2 minutes and voila!

Mallory, and to you and yours! You're right, family is the best. But nice gifts are always fun... like my fancy schmantzy bracelet. It calls to me hypnotically...

I got myself some great stuff, leaving the family with no idea what to get me. Not that anyone was going to get me a $500 bicycle or a $250 portable game machine or anything.

Mostly I got more stuff to jazz my cube shaped world up with. And a new suit. Two new suits actually (I got one more today, as they were on sale).

Maybe next year I will be EXTRA GOOD so that I get that $90,000 boat I want :)

Booze and Marie were my gifts.

Saur♥Kraut said...

Daniel, well Marie was certainly the best of the two. ;o) Congrats again on the engagement!

Lazy Iguana, you have been a naughty boy this year, haven't you? Like you, I like getting my own presents because then I know I'm getting what I want! I leave the little stuff to everyone else.

Okay, I got a lot of great things, but the kicker to every holiday is finding the worst gift. I love my mom to death but she's been known to only shop the clearance sales and end up with some pretty tacky stuff. This year I got pajamas that have really wild-looking ducks on them - they've got bulgy eyes and look as though they're on crack. It was hard for me to even hold them up to myself to show them off! (On the bright side, at least they didn't put her back much!)

P.S. Thank you for the link add
